Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy (SLO)
Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy is a non-invasive method for imaging the retina. Widely applied in patients, SLO is also used to study the eyes of animals to uncover the pathophysiology of retinal diseases and interaction with drug treatments.
STZ OcuTox uses a Spectralis®HRA+OCT.
SLO is the method of choice for a variety of standard assessments including:
- Lipofuscin detection
- Gene expression studies
- Fluorescein and ICG angiography
