OcuTox has access to healthy and pathological human eyes. Here an isolated human macula is shown under the light microscope using transmitted light from a 90 year old female donor. The yellow color is caused by the macula pigment. In the central part of the foveola the usual large Müller cells, which are not well known, guide light through the retina and therefore appear white.
